One day in London

 Hello!

2020 was a difficult year due to the coronavirus. It was hard and sad time, so whenever I could I tried to leave the house and, moreover travel.

My first trip was in January. It was very spontaneous because it lasted one day! And it was 1372 kilometers away! I visited the capital of Great Britain and England - London!

But from the beginning.. I had never flown so I decided to change that. One night when I couldn't sleep, I was looking for cheap flights. I found a flight to London, which cost me less than PLN 100 return! It was a great opportunity so I already bought two tickets (for myself and my boyfriend).

The airport was located in Gdańsk. It was huge but we found the right flight without any problem. The flight was exciting! We flew early in the morning so we had beautiful views of the sky. The first person in London we met was an airport worker. I was very surprised by her strong British accent. Nevertheless, she was very kind and easy to talk to. From the airport, we took a bus to the center of London. It was difficult for us to get used to left-hand traffic on the road. Moreover, many Londoners don't look at the color of the traffic light. They just cross the road! Personally, I was afraid of running into a car. In the nearest cafeshop we met a waitress who was Polish! It was really fun for me. I felt very comfortable there. 

Later, it was Big Ben on our tour. Unfortunately, it wasn't  visible because it was under reconstruction. But we didn't give up and went to sightseeing. Next we saw the London Eye and Tower Bridge! It was beautiful and so surreal. I also was very impressed by the number of taxis, red buses and telephone boxes. I felt like in a movie! Of course, we also bought souvenirs - key rings and a cap. We also saw something typical for England - rain. Luckily, it started to rain at the end of the day when we were finishing our tour. In the evening we went to dinner and took the train to the airport to return to Poland. The flight to home was very relaxed mostly because we were incredibly tired and we slept the whole 2 hours away. 

This day, although very tiring, was fantastic. I would love to visit London again with more time. I have proved to myself that you can travel for little money! Even if you don't know the language perfectly. And that was only the beginning of the year ...
